It’s me, hi, I’m the gardner, it’s me.
My name is Britain (like the place) and I’m an elder millennial, latch key kid who has tried just about every hobby under the sun over the last two decades. Photography? Nailed it. Baking? Relatively successful. Becoming a runner? meh.
But when it came to gardening, I was convinced I had a brown thumb.
Turns out, I just wasn’t great at winging it because with gardening, you kind of can’t. After years of trial and error (and a few very dramatic plant failures), I finally sat down and did some real digging—both in books and in the dirt. And guess what? Things started growing.
Fast forward a few seasons, and here we are—harvesting our own seasonal crops from raised and container gardens, stocking the fridge, canning for long-term storage, and learning more every day. My kids are growing up with the knowledge to be self-sustaining, and now I’m passing it along to you. I’ve done the dirty work (literally), and with the help of my handsome side kick of a husband, so you don’t have to.
I created GrowWell Gardens as a place to document everything, share real gardening advice, swap DIY tips, and plant some seeds of knowledge (see what I did there?).
So, is this another hobby? Sure. But it’s also a passion, one that gets me outside, covered in soil, and connected to Mother Nature.
So, cheers (holding up a glass of lemon balm iced tea)—to getting in the sun, getting our hands dirty, and working with the earth to create some garden magic.
Love,
Britain
